What the Undercover word game is

In the Undercover word game, most players get one word and a hidden player (or players) gets a slightly different word — or none at all — then everyone describes their word one clue at a time. The table has to spot who is out of step. It is a brilliant, low-setup party game, which is why it shows up under names like Undercover and Who is the Spy?.

No cards to hand out, no words to whisper — every role is dealt privately to each player's screen. The host can add a custom word list to theme the game.

How a round plays

Privately reveal your role, give a single-word clue on your turn, debate whose clue felt hollow, and vote together. Unmask the undercover player to win as the crew, or blend in to win as the impostor. Full rules and a worked example are in the guide.
