Play online, free
If you love the Chameleon-style hidden-word game, Impostor is a free way to play it online. One player is the odd one out — they do not know the secret word and have to blend in with a clue that sounds convincing. Everyone else gives a one-word clue, then the table votes on who was faking.
The Chameleon is a modern classic: everyone knows a secret word, one sneaky player does not, and each person drops a short clue to prove they belong — while the "chameleon" tries to blend in and guess the word from what they hear. The fun is in that razor-thin line between a clue that is too vague (and gives you away) and one that is too obvious (and hands the answer to the faker).
Impostor is built around exactly that tension, and you can play it in your browser for free.
Instead of a physical card grid, Impostor deals the secret word to everyone's screen privately:
The host can even load a custom word list, so you can theme a whole session around your group.
Reveal your role privately, give your one-word clue when it is your turn, then discuss whose clue felt like a bluff. Everyone votes together and the odd one out is revealed. Catch them and the crew wins; blend in and the hidden player wins. The complete rules and a clue example are in the how-to-play guide.
Impostor is our own free, online social-deduction game inspired by the hidden-word genre. It is not affiliated with, licensed by, or endorsed by The Chameleon or Big Potato Games — it is simply a browser-based way to enjoy the same style of play with friends anywhere.
Start a room to try it, or explore the same idea as Spyfall online or the Undercover word game.
